WSC Down-Hole Project: Update – Tues. March 31, 2009
Message from Bob Balslev, SRE-WSC President
Tues. March 31, 2009; 5:48:16 PM CDT
This is the first of what is intended to be a series of daily progress reports regarding your project.
Bottom line: Project on schedule and public water consumption conservation is meeting our goals. This evening’s usage will be a key indicator of our plans success to maintain personal usage needs.
- 8 AM today: your two 20,000 gallon storage tanks were topped off and the well pump shut down.
- Immediately thereafter the well’s galvanized pipes were removed by Whisenant & Lyle Water Services, Inc. of Dripping Springs.
- Once the pipes were removed, GEO CAM of San Antonio commenced logging of the well hole. The logging process is a precision, continuous top-to to-bottom analysis via resistivity measurements defining the mineral composition of our 705′ hole.
- Following the logging, measurements were also taken, top to bottom, of the hole diameter.
- Logging and all measurements were completed at approximately 2 PM.
- The logging process is necessary in order to plan a composite water quality improvement plan.
- At 4 PM, 2,200 gallons of water were delivered and transfered to the storage tanks.
- Prior to the water transfer at 3 PM, our customers had consumed approximately 3,400 gallons of water.
- Tomorrow AM, we will have a better assessment capability of our consumption measurements.
On Wednesday, we will commence cleansing of the well, a three day process.
Thanks for your consumption conservation efforts.
